Educational Advocacy

As an advocate, we will  represent your child and family in obtaining the BEST possible modifications and accommodations  that will assure participating in and benefiting from all educational programs and activities.  In addition, we provide comprehensive assessments  to determine your child's current level of educational performance, and that an education plan is solidly based on the needs of your student.

We are available to work with parents in the development of a comprehensive IEP rather than relying on the school to determine goals and services for your child.

What is an Educational Advocate?

An Advocate is a person who represents another person either in person or in writing. An Educational Advocate does this specificlly for the parents and children with special educational needs. An Advocate has the knowledge and expertise concerning special education and its applicable federal and state laws. A Special Education Advocate is a representative that informs parents of their educational rights and assists families in negotiating and resolving disputes with the school district in order to secure the best possible educational program and educational services for children.

Note that an educational advocate is not an attorney but may recommend an attorney should your case go to mediation.
